Episode #25: This milkshake kills fascists!

There’s been a whole year of SHPP. One year of galaxy-brained takes, impassioned denunciations of capitalism, and extremely inappropriate and unexpected sex jokes. We’re celebrating by recording our regular fortnightly episode of SHPP.

We start with “Concerned Comrades”, weighing in on the important questions around celebrity dogs, milkshakes-as-antifa-tactics, and socialist fashun tips.

In “Snitch the Sitch”, reflect on the first year of SHPP and the political reasons for the show.

Finally, we all Come in My Library at another incredible Kate Hawkesby reading. You’re going to love it.

Episode #23: Talking Capital Gain$ with our Swoletariat Friends

This fortnight we have a special guest host Ricardo Mendendez-March (@RMarchNZ on twitter). Ricardo is a returning friend of the show from episode two. Ricardo is the coordinator at Auckland Action Against Poverty. You can find out more about AAAP here: www.aaap.org.nz/

We got Ricardo on especially to talk about the capital gains tax and the Labour Party’s treasonous refusal to implement one. In this fortnight’s segment of “the Labour Party is not your Friend”, we’re spitting fire, talking serious sheet about the Labour party’s latest betrayals.

In “Concerned Comrades”, we talk about the budget responsibility rules, Stuart McCutcheon, and organising through burnout.

Ricardo snitches the sitch with us, letting us know what’s happening with AAAP.

Finally, we read a truly incredible piece about the human rights commission. Enjoy comrades!

Episode #21: The Christchurch Mosque Attacks – Mourning, Reflection, Organising

In this episode, we reflect on the Christchurch Mosque Attacks. We talk about the context of Islamophobia in which the attack occurred, the responses to it, and what it means for our organising going forward. This is not a usual episode of the podcast. Don’t expect jokes. We simply provide our open and honest reflection on the most horrific terrorist attack in modern New Zealand history.

Episode #19: A Very Kosher Episode

This fortnight, Justine and Ti were freed from the authoritarian grips of the Shot Hot People’s President for Life, Emmy. To celebrate, we briefly discuss the political implications of the Season 4 Finale of Ru Paul’s Drag Race All Stars — so SPOILERS AHEAD.

In concerned comrades, we talk about left unity, bratty bottoms, and the relationship between class, identity, and becoming a communist.

We’ve also introduced a new segment this week: “kvetching corner”. This segment is for our panelists to get whatever’s bothering them at that moment off their chests.

Finally, we return to a friend of the show when we invite you to come in my library. We destroy this conservatoid so hard we make Charlie Kirk look like a soggy biscuit.

Episode #18: Gameshow of Thrones

This week, the Politburo try out a new segment! In “The Great Proletarian Pub Quiz”, Quizmistress Emmy interrogates Ti and Justine on socialist trivia. The prize? Mostly mockery.

Last week was Waitangi Day! On the anniversary of the day on which Emmy’s indigenous ancestors got scammed by the Yakubian White Devils, our “The Labour Party is Not Your Friend” segment discusses the Labour government’s betrayal of Māori. The Treaty of Waitangi was a lie in 1840, and it’s a lie in 2019. We need communism babey!

In “Concerned Comrades” we welcome our new nazi listeners from Reddit! Also, Ti discloses their sexual fixation on the Grinch.

We “Snitch the Sitch” on Aotearoa’s left this fortnight. The United States and the international imperialist bloc are trying to prop up an unelected rightist leader as “president” of Venezuela. Organise Aotearoa is rallying outside the Amerikkkan consulate in Auckland to show there is a groundswell of opposition to US regime change wars.

We finish up with “Cum in my Library”, settling down with friend of the show Kate Hawkesby. Just to keep our listeners on their toes, Emmy ends up emphatically agreeing with every word our reactionary friend utters.

Episode #5: Two Nazis Came to Auckland, What Happens Next Will Warm Your Heart

The OG Politburo is back together again, ready to dispense our authoritarian wisdom.

Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux tried to hold a white supremacist rally in Auckland! The Politburo discuss how the left in Auckland organised a response that sent the racist weirdos scrambling. We talk about anti-fascist tactics and what YOU can do to make a Nazi cry.

We also read an article by a decrepit liberal who wanted us to pull the blanket over our heads and ignore the Nazis.

As Mao Zedong teaches, revolutionaries are like fish and the people are our water. If you want to kick us a cup of the good shit and keep us from suffocating, consider supporting the show on Patreon.
